Happy PeriAnesthesia Nursing Week!
We wanted to kick off 2025 with some updates with what has been happening in the PeriAnesthesia Nursing world.
As we celebrate PeriAnesthesia Nursing Week (Feb.3-9), we wanted to share PeriAnesthesia Nurses of Canada’s President Tanya Lachapelle annual letter: President’s Address
Some highlights include:
- A virtual spring symposium on May 31, 2025
- In-person National Conference planned for 2026
- ICPAN Conference to be hosted in Dublin this September 2025
- Submit a photo of your PeriAnesthesia Crew to NAPANC contest – Photo Contest

For those that attended our Pain Symposium last May, many were inspired and touched by Brandon’s story on substance use and the 4B Harm Reduction Society that his mom created. If you are interested in learning more about 4B Harm Reduction Society, please go to https://www.4bhr.org/home or follow their Instagram @4b.harm.reduction
If you’re interested in street outreach education and advocacy opportunities, 4B Harm Reduction Society is looking for volunteers: 4B Harm Reduction Volunteer Form
This is a great opportunity for us to support Brandon and his mission!

Lastly, the Rural Surgical and Obstetrical Networks of Alberta (RSONA) is hosting a free virtual education session on Management of Post-partum Hemorrhage on Feb. 18th, 2025 from 1800-1900 MST. Refer to poster for details and Zoom link: RSONA Rounds Feb.18
Thank you for all you do and your dedication to PeriAnesthesia Nursing!
