With the cancellation of numerous conferences and educational events, are you thinking to yourself… “Well how else do I get involved?”
For this month’s post, here are some ways that you can do just that. Some require stepping a little outside the box, but interesting nonetheless!
- Want to know what’s happening internationally for PeriAnesthesia Nurses? Follow International Collaboration of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ICPAN) on Instagram and Facebook or check out their website at icpan.org
- Keep an eye out for The Journal of PeriAnesthesia Nursing as they will be publishing a research article, “Education, Competence, and the Role of the Nurse Working in the PACU: An International Survey.”
Curious about International studies? Contact us if any of the following interest you!
- Cora Brennan from IARNA in Ireland is conducting a study on how Perioperative nurses manage after a Critical Incident. Interested participants are asked to complete a survey.
- A Covid-19 PeriAnesthesia Nurse impact study is ongoing and led by Karuna Dahlberg from Sweden.
- In lieu of the ICPAN Conference 2021 in Athens Greece, Education Chair, Mette Ring is looking for collaboration with topics of interest regarding educational webinars/presentations.
Want to take it a step further?
- Work continues slowly on the development of PACU competencies for the China PACU Certificate Project: Operation Smile Collaboration. However, Covid-19 is delaying the progress. They will be seeking volunteers to collaborate on this project in the future for global policy development and implementation.
How about things happening closer to home?
- Volunteer to be our next Member Spotlight! We and our fellow members would love to get to know you better.
- Know or can “blackmail” 😉 anyone that would have a fun topic for us to host at a webinar? Let us know!
As always, we look forward to hearing from you. Please contact us at info.pananac@gmail.com if you would like us to connect you with research leads or just to chat about ideas!
